Levels Of Care

Medically Assisted Detox: Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one\'s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. Intensive Outpatient: Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) can be used to treat a range of chemical dependencies, including alcoholism, prescription drug dependence, and addictions to illicit drugs. IOP has also proved to be successful in other contexts, such as eating disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, depression, self-harm, and other forms of mental illness. Because IOP operates on a small scale, it does not require the extensive residential or partial hospitalization services offered at most rehab treatment centers. Intensive outpatient programs generally last for a period of 30 days, with individual treatment programs available between 10 and 12 hours each week. Outpatient: The primary difference between residential rehab and outpatient care, is that clients of outpatient treatment are not expected to reside at the Restore Health and Wellness Center LA facility. Outpatient treatment generally offers more flexible scheduling, when compared to the residential option. Clients will meet at the center anywhere from a couple days a week, to every single day at varying times. Outpatient treatment at Restore Center includes the elements of addiction recovery, such as individual and group therapy, stress reduction, and relapse prevention strategies. Inpatient: Residential rehab at Restore Health and Wellness at LA is a level of care that requires clients to live full-time at their facility for the duration of the program. This phase may begin once the client is out of immediate medical danger, their body has detoxified from drugs and alcohol, and specialized medical professionals have customized a treatment plan to fit the individual’s unique needs. Clients of Restore’s residential treatment program will identify and work on the physical and psychological problems that resulted from their drug addiction and the discontinuation of substance use. Intervention Services: Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict\'s behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need. Aftercare Support: Completing a rehab program is a significant achievement, but once a person returns to independent living, it is important for them to have an effective aftercare plan in place. At Restore Treatment Center, they offer a range of aftercare services that provide continued support and therapy to those in recovery for co-occurring disorders. Some of their aftercare services available include ongoing counseling and access to group therapy meetings. For some addicts seeking recovery, medication monitoring may also be required, along with access to a variety of alternative therapies to help promote relaxation and stress relief. Sober Living Homes: Sober living environments are facilities specifically designed to meet the needs of recovering addicts after they have completed residential inpatient treatment or outpatient rehab. While some people are able to leave rehab and return directly to back into everyday life, other people simply need an additional, transitional level of care. Their sober living program provides supervised recovery for residents as they slowly integrate back to independent living. Clients who choose to continue their addiction recovery in their sober living environment, can participate in outpatient programs and group meetings and will have access to educational and vocational services.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one\'s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient\'s own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse. Eating Disorder Treatment: Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. An eating disorder may also present as a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis alongside drug and alcohol addiction. Experiential Therapy: Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing. Family Therapy: Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. Group Therapy: Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members. Individual Therapy: In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life. At Restore Health and Wellness Center, individual therapy sessions are conducted in a private setting, which allows the client to feel safe and free to open up, while also helping them become aware of their problems in order to make necessary changes. Nutrition Therapy: Nutrition plays a major role in the process of recovery from addiction, as it has a large impact on an addict’s overall health. Over a period of sustained abuse of drugs and alcohol, many addicts adopt unhealthy eating habits, because the use of these substances takes precedence over everything else in life. While drinking, for instance, people often feel full after having eaten very little. These empty calories can lead to malnutrition and poor eating habits. In the case of drug abuse, there are also similar effects. Both alcohol and drugs make it difficult for the body to properly absorb and break down nutrients, while simultaneously expelling toxins. In addition to poor eating habits, a host of health problems accompany prolonged substance abuse.

Detail

Alcoholism: The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings. Dual Diagnosis: Co-occurring disorders are very common, and are often the leading cause for relapse in people suffering from addiction. The term ‘co-occurring disorders’ is used to describe the existence of both an addiction and a mental illness. These two disorders are commonly intertwined, because one can often fuel the other. Although co-existing disorders are quite common, they frequently go undiagnosed. Conventional treatment methods tend to isolate one problem and leave the other untreated. However, at Restore Treatment Center, they believe that in order for a person with a dual diagnosis to be successful in recovery, both conditions must be addressed concurrently through specialized care. Opioid Addiction: Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction. Substance Abuse: Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
